early morning walk + reflecting.

the break in humidity is already reminding me of autumn. funny how the grass is always greener, eh?

the gradual changing of seasons makes me think of what i was doing at this time last year. last august, i didn't even own a camera. now i'm working on building a photography portfolio to start my own biz.

and the blog? it was crappy. not that the blog is awesome now. but i was basically copying and pasting dresses from jcrew and calling that a blog post. i'm so glad i decided to make the blog about our lives instead.

i tend to be pretty hard on myself when it comes to work. i constantly worry why things aren't moving faster, or how the heck did (insert insanely talented freelancer) get to be so awesome?

but when you simply reflect back on where you were a year ago, it makes all the difference.

crazy how things change in a year....

It's pretty remarkable that your photographs and blog have blossomed so quickly. Just imagine what it will look like one year from today!

I love reflecting on how times change. Your blog is awesome, and I never would have guessed you weren't always taking pictures - you're a natural!! Can't wait to see your blog continue to grow :)

So true...so true! And since I wasn't 'here' last year, my view is that your blog has always been awesome! :-) And, by the way, I LOVE that shot you have there today!!

It truly is amazing to think all that can change in a year. It is good and helpful to slow down and take time to reflect and see what you have learned.
Much love,

it's always interesting how life changes and things grow. I stumbled upon an old goal list I wrote maybe 5 years ago- and it's amazing how some of them came true. :)

couldn't be truer, lady. exactly one year ago we were driving across the country in our scamp with all our possessions in storage, about to move to a foreign country with no idea of what lay ahead. now that seems like a LIFE TIME ago. (but, alas, our stuff is still in storage...)

thanks for stopping by bigBANG, and omg, HOW CUTE IS THE FLUFFERNUTTER PUP? sam wiggins is so, so cute.

Things really do change so much in a year. This time last year I was preparing for the biggest day of my life - my wedding. Now we just moved into our beautiful new home in a different city, nearly a year of marriage in the books and happy and content as can be.

Why thank you so kindly for stopping by my blog! Funnily enough, I was going to post this week about what I was doing this time last year. As I sit at home with a cold sulking about the chilly Sydney rain, I've been reminiscing about a trip to Vegas I had this time last year... oh the sun, the cocktails, the fun!

Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. The pups is, yes, adorable, and a total sweetheart!

It is so true how quickly things change. I have always liked taking pictures, but have done so more seriously now that I have a blog as an outlet for them. You're pictures are very nice!

p.s. I agree on your comment about taking pictures and telling stories over copy and pasting a image from a website on a blog. I see so many of those, and think... buy the dress, take some photos, and add the story behind it. : )

But how will I know which Jcrew dress to buy?! ;) Your photos are lovely. I like your life, keep talking about it.

I, too, loved what you said about last year's blog. I wasn't reading back then, but I know I'd like the evolution more. I don't always feel compelled to check on a dress, but I def think, 'I wonder what Becca's up to today.' I love your blog and the photography too. :-)

It is amazing to look back and reflect. I find it pretty encouraging - that even when you feel at times like you're standing still you are always moving forward.
