and you don't live in florida??? hmph. thought maybe you were my neighbor. cuz you got this down to our science.
i abhor the H word. abhor it. and you may have noted some of those fools out on the seafront battling those cane winds using it allllll too frequently. makes me want to bitch slap them. you go hunker! i don't see YOU hunkering! damn it. now i've used the word.
not too far!
that is what people do during ice storms and hurricanes! :)
kitchu-
you crack me the hell up.
david and elizabeth-
i thought maybe you need to pro-create after the tropical storm wiped us off the face of the earth.
I'm glad that the hurricane wasn't as bad as the hype made it seem it was going to be. Really it sounds like you just ended up getting a good excuse for a relaxing weekend in.
Poor Sam Wiggins though, I hope he has calmed down. Also he looks like a stuffed animal in these pictures and it makes me want to squeeze him!
ha, I was thinking about you across the river from us! We also stayed in and made yummy drinks and impossibly sinful deep dish cookie desserts. We also made a drinking game out of the news - every time someone said "Hope for the best, plan for the worst."
Apparently we read a couple of the same magazines. Glad that you guys fared well during the storm.
Poor pup! At least he looks adorable while convulsing - and you're so nice to let him lay in your nice chair :)
HA! This post=my favorite.

this could have also been played with the word "hunker." though you would have been drunk much quicker.
Well it looks like Sam Wiggins knows how to relax. Glad everything is okay for you New Yorkers.
love your furniture and that sounds like a nice way to spend a day indoors
cookies are a great way to get your through a hurricane :)
*you
That sounds amazing. Send the hurricane my way I need to get some (too much?)
P.S. Can we get an apartment tour? Gorgeous!
No hunkering allowed!
Random question: I love the chair Sam Wiggins is on...where's that from?

Not too far. Say what you feel. I would be bored to death if I were in the situation. Least you are safe and ok. Thanks for visiting my blog, I hope you continue to be safe. Love the dog :)) xx
I think these are the best advices even if you don't have a hurricane. Heard that NY after all was not so much affected. Thank God and your good hurricane rules!!!!
Love it♥

haha, great pictures and advice for hurricane survival! :) I LOVE the chair Sam Wiggins is snoozing on...where's it from!?
glad you survived. :) are those l.l.bean slippers? i have them in green and they are blissful.
lib-
ha! yes. why are we always the same person?
not a bad set up for a hurricane :)
love those cute red shoes you are wearing and your dog is adorable!
wait...were you spying on my weekend?! Hahaha
Thanks for stopping by my blog.
Happy to have found yours back.

I have the same slippers (two pairs - one green, one navy). Love them.
In college I had to do a lot of census stats research - turns out that 9 months after large storms or exceptionally long/snowy winters resulted in higher birth rates (there is also a direct correlation in the 1920s/1930s of a increase in car registrations and an increase in births to unwed mothers... just sayin').
I'm glad you had a "easy" time with the hurricane. Our neighboring towns were completely demolished and our own little farm had some extensive damage. Bummer.
