simplify your workspace

go paperless by keeping your notes and ideas in a word document, excel spreadsheet, or apple's stickie notes.

Great idea until your computer crashes and you're SOL. I admire the simplicity of going paperless, but for me nothing will beat my grid moleskine that I keep all of my notes/thoughts/grocery lists in.

I've wanted to try Evernote, I've heard good things about it as well. I keep notes and lists on my iPhone, but I also have a thing for moleskine. And by thing, I mean I'm obsessed. :)

I am desperately working on this. it's a process. I actually just bought my third external hard drive this week and just did a major back up. I'm finally (a little late to the party) upgrading to Lion and I'm actually getting a new computer very soon. I'm SO behind on personal projects bc my computer was slow, too full, a mess in general. And in fact I am going to get another enormous drive to back up all the other drives again since I'm completely neurotic about losing information and photos.

The truth is also that I LIKE to see things written out in long hand. It brings me peace of mind to literally check things off a list with a red (always red) pen. I keep a notebook for this obsessive list-making.

I use Excel a lot in my office, especially for keeping track of client calls and messages. For my own personal checklists, however, I write them out by hand. I get the greatest sense of satisfaction when I down look at a list full of checked boxes!

It lookes lovely and calm, but I do have a thing for Moleskines and Post-its. I actually have a Post-it pad that says "I'm not messy, I'm creative".

Trying to do this more. I can't stand desk clutter!

I am trying very hard to make this transition. The mountain of loose sleeve papers is getting out of control.

I still count on a Moleskin for taking notes, plus it gives me a good excuse to practice my penmanship. But a few weeks ago, I lost it and had to clear everything off my desk–it had gotten out of control!

This motivated me to finally start up the stickies. I'm obsessed.

i don't use paper towels anymore either (like for cleaning). i have small hand towels for washing counter tops/mirrors, etc and they actually work so much better. i'm trying hard to convert my whole family but it's tough to break old habits.

My husband is rubbing off on me bc I've become more like this. He can't stand anyyything on the desk. I usually have coffee or a snack and my iPhone, but clean aside from that ;)
