the barefoot contessa can do no wrong. these eateries have been featured on her show and have my seal of approval as well. not that you needed it.
for obvious vegetarian reasons, bbq joints are not my thing. however, townline bbq has a very decent vegetarian selection and ed was pleased with his pulled pork sandwich. try the spicy pickles and california chili.
stock up on crab cakes, lobster bisque, and fish stew at the seafood shop. there is no seating inside. so it makes total sense to eat lobster rolls in the car, barefoot and freezing, heat on high, with a sandy wet dog in your lap.
we stopped at tate's bake shop on our way back to the city for shortbread, coffee cake muffins, and their crunchy chocolate chip cookies.

Oh wow it all looks so nice. Texan though I am, I am not a huge barbecue fan either, but I can always do veggies. I'm dying to visit NY again...now I know some places I want to get to!

You're smiling!! And you look so pretty doing it :)
Oh and thanks for the food tips, they're on my list!
OH my gosh i just want to eat at all these places! I can't wait to visit NY one day!
there are so many amazing places to eat in the Hamptons. We love Townline and go there pretty often. We also LOVE World Pie and Almond in Bridgehampton. la Fondita in Amagansett, harvest in Montauk, plus Stewart's in Amagansett for take out lobster (the place I mentioned to you the other day). Also, Nick and Toni's (freaking amazing and delicious). Rowdy hall for good bar food, Cappucine in Sag Harbor, the Golden Pear in all the towns on the south fork for great salads and sandwiches, The Milk Pail, the list goes on an on. And let's not even get started on my favorite farm stands. Old favorites that sadly closed include Laundry and Della Femina.
Thank you for sharing...in my travel file now!
Pretty, pretty pictures - as always. I've just had my dinner and now I'm hungry again.

Oh, I'm just drooling! I know John would flip for a lobster roll, but I'm waiting until he can experience them on the right coast!
Oh my goodness. TATE'S!!! So jealous you got to go!
Love all the picture from this little trip and most of all, love how deserted it is, just the three of you ;) (yes, I hate crowds)
