city-walking approved sandals.

new york walking sweaty feet approved sandals that are easy on the eyes. i can walk for miles in these and come home blister free. in case you haven't figured it out, this is not a high fashion blog. we wear birkenstocks and hug trees. check it.

1. i always see new york women schlepping around in birkenstock gizehs. i have them in silver.

2. german made worishofers have a cushiony footbed that wicks away sweat. score for the smelly feets.

3. never owned a pair of campers that i didn't love. stores were sprinkled throughout paris and everyone was wearing these.

any additions?

Super stylish! I am LOVING those yellow Campers, I almost bought a pair of Campers when we lived in Seattle. Do they run really small?

I also like Saltwaters for summer (of course, me and every blogger under the sun) and lately have been rocking my Sven mom clogs. Has anyone worn Native shoes? Those look like they'd be perfect for the heat!

shannon-
i'd say the campers run pretty true to size.

I agree! Salt Waters. Sturdy and cute and no blisters.
I want to add some Birks to my collection. Hopefully soon!

Haha... sorry, no offence Rebecca... they do look very nice and comfy, but it's just too funny, how a brand's image can differ from country to country. Here in Austria W├Ârishofer shoes are mostly known as granny-shoes and you'd rather buy them in a medical store than a stylish high street store. ;-)

I'm usually not a fan of plastic shoes, but Ipanemas are the most comfortable sandals I ever had and just perfect for hot summer days.

ha! i'm pretty sure worishofers are considered old woman shoes in the US as well... i just chose some cute ones. :)

I so need to get a pair of good sandals that will last me a while. Been dying for some birkenstocks but I'm lovin' the look of those worishofers!

1000 x yes to the Birkenstocks. Gizehs are the best, most of the girls in my daughter's class wear them too. We obviously are not high fashion either. :)

I want to try the Campers too.

If you really want to get crazy and avoid high fashion, you could wear Rainbows... :) I love mine!

Crocs? I wouldn't dare but there definitely are Croc lovers. I'd like to try me a pair of Campers though.

I was just thinking I needed a new pair of summer sandals. You know, for the three warm SF days all year and our vacation.

I needed these last week! I was in New York for all of 3 days and my feet are still recovering. So. much. walking. :)

PS I was half hoping/expecting to see you and Sam Wiggins - would have been better than a celebrity sighting!
