do you find that your home is constantly evolving? or do you decorate once and forget about it? i get these creative energy surges that i swear are seasonal and SOMETHING gets changed whether it be myself or the house. i'm growing my hair out so the house makes for the perfect outlet, as it usually does.
on top of it all, we ordered a new couch from bo concept since big-daddy-leather will be going back to his rightful owners in the fall. it takes a long time to truly make a house a home, no?

Absolutely. I find that I'm STILL adding pieces and little touches to my place. Instead of just doing one big redecorate, I like to do it a bit at a time. It's easier on the wallet too.
I do love what you've added. That pillow in the first photo is beautiful.
jillian-
same here. and thanks!
Yea for changes! Is a house ever really 'done'? I think not.
I like those pillows, a lot.

I don't think it ever stops! I myself just played floor chess with our living room furniture. I love change every once in a while. And sometimes it's the most random thing that inspires me. My mom has this wall closet that she's turned into a shop of sorts. It's filled with accessories for the house and she just swaps things out as she gets bored. Now I know where I get it.
your tulip table is Sexy with a capital S.
haha, i loved that you said you moved all your furniture around and then it ended up in the same place. I do that ALL the time. drives my husband crazy. this is also why i can never do built-ins! i can't put up anything permanently - a house is a constantly evolving thing!
i keep chaning bits and bobs all the time because i get bored all the time with things which has meant that i changed the lounge round a week ago--although i can't decide if i like it, think it needs a rug.
A designers home is never done, so yes always evolving! Love the attention to detail in your home ;)
It looks great, and I'm convinced that any which way you organised your furniture would look just as good. I move to a new place on Wednesday! Epic furniture chess battles will commence!
I absolutely get these bursts - usually around once a season as well. Things can be hunky dory for months and then suddenly - boom! - I feel an innate need to change things up. I'm in one right now; the kitchen is getting painted in August.
I don't usually comment but since your note on my blog about us being long lost food twins I thought it was time to say hi - I've been reading and enjoying from afar for a while :)
What a great pillow. I love decorating in bright color for accents.
I'm going through the same process. Actually just got my tulip side table, which I want to stare at all day every day.
it really does take awhile to collect pieces and put together things that really reflect you! and for it to be home. yours looks beautiful!! xo.
Homes should be as dynamic and ever-changing as their residents! I love gradually acquiring the perfect pieces. I'm also digging that first pillow, especially against your leather couch.
Oh you can say that again! We moved from a very small one bedroom two a very large two bedroom 7 months ago and we have barely started icing the cake. If that makes sense. Your home looks lovely though, and I too love to change things up almost every week.
you guys are quite an inspiration for me and my gf, hollie. we're aren't quite there yet, infact we both still live with our 'rents as we don't have enough money to move it together. one day we can have a same wiggins set up
