on saturday we got dinner to-go from chelsea market and took our meal to the high line. we usually argue as to whether we dine al fresco or not. i will happily sit outside and let my own sweat bring flavor to the meal. ed thinks i'm crazy (he's right). though i won the battle this time, mostly due to a breezy summer night, but also because chelsea market has the dining atmosphere of an upper class wal-mart.

These are great photos! I actually agree with you -- I'd much rather sit outside and eat when the option is available.

I <3 that billboard. I like to eat outside if it isn't too hot, or if there is shade involved. Sitting in the sun in 95 degrees? Forget it.

Eating outside is my favorite. Eating Mac&Cheese outside, c'mon now! YUM!
And I think it's ok to be THAT person to an extent (obviously Portlandia takes it a little far, but I have to admit, that show is pretty spot on!).
I don't really care about being chilled by air conditioning but my husband definitely does. We take turns with him sweating and me freezing. :) Compromise

Well, I prefer to do almost anything outside. Why take the subway if you can walk? We can be outside (sweating) the whole time!

Well, I'm from Portland, I find the video hilarious (and a little true) and the Green Table is usually where I go when I'm in nyc to grab dinner and sit on the highline or my hotel room (The Standard). Sounds like a wonderful night. Love the pictures!

I love eating outside in the summer - I find I eat less and enjoy it more! Picnics in the shade are the best.
I like to sit outside, preferably in direct sunlight. There's nothing like a sweat infused meal ;)
