the most common nutrition questions i am asked:
1. should i be eating 4-5 small meals per day?
2. should i stop eating after 6pm (or whatever random time you wanna insert)?
3. is breakfast really that important?
the answer? eat when you're hungry. stop when you're full.
it doesn't have to be difficult.

Nutrition and good health is always so much more simple than we try to make it. Thanks for the reminder!
Agree.
WORD. If everyone lived by this, I don't think we would have a national obesity epidemic. Quality over quantity too! Eat whole foods, not crap.

I like "Eat food; not too much; mostly plants." That is from Michael Pollan.
It's not really that simple for everyone, unfortunately.

i agree! it certainly isn't simple, but this is the simplest answer to the most common questions i am asked. it is never my intention to offend anyone. i hope you understand.
I love this answer! For me, I find that if I have to "think" about food, I eat more (also if I think something is "bad" or "not allowed"). When I *feel* like I can eat anything, it's really not that tempting anymore. I used to always wonder how some people could have candy in their house without eating it, and, gasp, now I'm one of them!
@Jayna, i agree! people use food for many things besides the simple nourishment/fuel it was created for, and sometimes answering questions about exactly how to manage food intake can help people that misuse/are overwhelmed.
Here, HERE!
Some of us can't feel / don't recognize the feeling of being full.
I can get behind this 100%!
I love this. I try and live by the 'stop when you think you are 80% full' rule, which is easy to forget when I am stuffing my face on goodies like sweet potatoes, but generally easy to remember and which so far has resulted in happy innards!
I like to stand up in the middle of my meal. It's the best way to tell if I'm full.
Haha - AMEN! :-)
Simple but effective.
i'd also add, it's okay to feel a little hungry sometimes... human beings (if we think globally, and historically) will be okay if we're a little hungry when we go to bed at night!
