bradley beach new jersey

over the holiday we zipped to bradley beach in a bright red mini cooper convertible. i swear i had more fun in the coop than i did on the beach. though honestly, i've never really been a beach bum kinda gal as you can tell by my pallid freckled skin.

finding a spot to stake your umbrella is imperative to how the rest of your beach day will play out. we ended up sitting next to a young family who we aptly named crunchy granola. you know crunchy granolas, right? composting, birkenstock-wearing, all-natural deodorant swiping types. minus the composting i just described myself, so you get the picture. but these people were EXTRA crunchy. dude was wearing speedos, long hair down to his butt, singing a nature tune on his ukelele in the hole that he dug while eating kale chips. so. many. jokes.

ps: i always wear this top as a rash guard on the beach. fits perfectly and dries quickly.

I'm actually surprised to see that it's not at all crowded. Whenever I go to the shore, everyone is five inches apart.

Sweet ride!

Ah, I spent so many childhood days on Bradley Beach!! We moved all over but spent a good bit of time in NJ. Hooray for fair skinned beauty!

Beach neighbors sre definitely part of any beach experience! I still reference quite a few of them every now and then.

Love the little convertible. What a great way to travel.

Ha! We call them "nutty-crunchies" in my family.

So many pretty beach shots! Love your blue and white cover-up.

This looks like such a perfect beach day–and I love that little red Mini! I'll admit though, in all my years of goin' down the shore, I don't know if I've ever seen any family quite so crunchy!

so fun. it was freaking hot last week and esp on the 4th....and even though we have a car I feel like we need to rent a convertible after seeing these photos! although I don't think it would be so wise to take the baby in it...not yet:)

Rebecca, your bikini is so rad!

Love the crunchies; wish we had more in my neck of the woods. A beach would be nice too. But I guess that's totally impossible. So far, I've threatened to flood the parking garage of my old apartment building. Naturally, the landlord wasn't as keen on the idea as I was.

I've since let him know that I've reconsidered. (For now... It's hot here.)

Love, love, love your blog!
