tzatziki dip.

tzatziki and pita

by february, soup has run its course in this house and it's time for a change up. that being said, i'll make another bowl of chili come friday. but ziki ziki (because tzatziki is hard to say) with pita bread, roasted potatoes and haricot verts accompany the sunday night wind down most perfectly.

it goes against everything ziki but i leave out the cucumbers. it takes twice the time, makes the dip runny, and adds little to no flavor. sorry cucs.

tzatziki dip
1 large container (14-16oz) greek yogurt (fage 2% works well)
1/4 cup sour cream
2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
1 tbsp white wine vinegar
handful minced fresh dill
1 1/2 tsps minced garlic
2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper

there's nothing fancy about it. dump all the ingredients in a bowl and stir it up.

serve with pita bread, pita chips, naan, tomato slices, or roasted potatoes. ed slathers it on turkey sandwiches and i dunk my pizza in it. classy! keeps well in the fridge for nearly a week.

i love ziki ziki sauce! :) but i dislike cucumbers so this is my kind of recipe. thanks for sharing, i'm definitely trying it out!

It's the dill that makes it so good in my opinion...takes it from chip dip to upscale in to time!

my 16 year old loves tzatziki as an after school, before dance snack. i've been buying it at trader joe's and she tells me it's delicious, she just wishes it was less "cucumbery".... here is my solution! thank you!!! plus it will save me many out of the way trips to tj's ;)

Oh how I love tzatziki–but I can't resist that little cucumber-y crunch! I'd never thought of serving it with roasted potatoes and haricot verts–sounds heavenly.

YUM! I adore tzatziki -- one of my all time fave dips. I like to add a little diced English cucumber too, and sometimes, if I'm feeling really wild, even a pinch crushed red pepper flake. SO GOOD.

I use very few cucumbers and NO garlic...highly recommend that, too.
