interesting article...love cookie cake, but ice cream cake is my fav-my mom still gets me one each year! have a great weekend :)
i was never a cake girl growing up -- i alternated between brownies and cookie cake! both remind me of very happy memories. my sister loved ice cream cake and icebox cake...(http://smittenkitchen.com/blog/2007/01/wafer-wonderland/)
also, i watched the Queen of Versailles documentary last night. very thought provoking and it reminded me to thank you for your blog, which reminds me often that a good life is far more that what we consume. so thank you!
have a wonderful weekend!
great article - would be lovely to see it take off, though i think most corporate workplaces would see it as "unproductive" even though it's just the opposite. i'm fortunate enough to work from home and have lately started walking around my city/neighborhood during conference calls where I don't need to take notes. most of the time i cover 3-4 miles by the end of the call. it's awesome.
cookie and ice cream cakes are so good, though i prefer a good pie to celebrate birthdays.
i can't believe we change clocks this weekend. yay for days not ending until well after dinner!
if it's not a mrs. fields cookie cake, don't even mess wit it.
jen-
i love that you have a walking conference call. makes perfect sense.
marissa-
obviously.
Seems strange to set the clocks forward the day after getting almost two feet of snow! But I'll take the longer days...
And hooray for Mad Men!
Oh ice cream cake...I drove 2 hours there and back for my favorite kind recently...
Checking out these links now! Have a great weekend!!!
I LOVE your thinking about lists. And I must confess, they partially inspired my new blog feature, Friday Flotsam and Jetsam :)
SUCH a fan of your blog. XX

It was nice reading your post and the picture was lovely.
The article about walking meetings is a life changer. I am an English teacher in Brazil and I am going to start having walking conversation classes! My students are already loving the idea, we can practice speaking English and do some exercise at the same time! What a win-win!
I had the idea about walking during conference calls, imagine it everyone did this! Isn't this the answer to American obesity? To be able to work and work-out at the same time? Like I said, life changer! Thanks Becca!
It's always nice to read a round-up of beloved links - and the title of the article is just great!
That sitting article is a good one. I know I need to exercise a more...winter is so hard for that. But what to they mean by for each additional hour of television watched, the risk of dying rose 11%? The risk of dying of a certain disease? Or in a certain time-frame? It seems like we all have a 100% risk of dying.
