windproof umbrellas

i have a windproof gustbuster umbrella (it doesn't flip inside out!) and it's big enough to actually keep me dry. the fact that it doesn't flip inside out also means it will propel you forward a full city block in a dang nor'easter.

that being said, i love the modern shape and colors of these blunt umbrellas, which also claim to be windproof. i haven't put it to the nor'easter test but the design has me hooked.

just in time for spring showers.

the real test will be whether it can survive the insane winds of downtown manhattan. I've been pulled across the west side high way with my umbrella before with the wind at my back. not fun.

I had no idea that "wind proof" umbrellas existed, that's brilliant! I love that cheery shade of blue.

james blabs about his plan for an "egg-shaped" umbrella every time it rains...i don't really get it, but it's something about taking up less room on the sidewalk. these look better.
