the daily muse

this guy has been feisty ever since he got a spring hairdo
does this really make the smoothest of smoothies?
quite the moola for a blender
i've been wearing the heck out of this lightweight sweatshirt
have you heard of blue apron?
it simplifies grocery shopping so you can actually get cooking
will have to look for streusel bars next time at smorgasburg
these muffins look perfect to have on hand
toast and jam...

They aren't lying about the blender! It even grinds coffee! (literally, better than a coffee grinder).

We have the vitamix. (Hubs broke my food processor and replaced it with one. At the time, I was not impressed). It doesn't replace a food processor but is an amazing blender. Worth it if you use it for all the things it says it can do - flours, soups, etc. Smoothies are smooooooooooooooth for sure.

The Vitamix is AWESOME. Definitely the smoothest of smoothies. I love the green smoothies I can make in our Vitamix - my old blender would leave them kind of stringy. We also bought the dry blade and I grind my own flours - awesome for making millet, quinoa, nut flours, etc.
You can get them at Costco, our Whole Foods sells them and we bought ours refurbished on the Vitamix website ($300 instead of $600 and the same warranty).

I've also been wondering about the vitamix, but it just seems a bit out of my price range right now. I would be curious to do a side-by-side compare.

Also, blue apron sounds amazing. I'm super bummed they don't deliver to Seattle.

Happy Friday!!

I LOVE my Vitamix! I know myself too well and the only way I would commit to a daily green smoothie was to buy a ridiculously expensive blender that would make me feel guilty for not using it. 2 years later, and I'm still enjoying my daily green smoothie. It's an investment in your health, and you can't put a price on that :)

We're wild over on Long Island and have the Vitamix (husband bought a present for himself randomly one day) and we got that juicer I wrote about today on the blog. I am obsessed with both. I highly suggest getting the Vitamix. We use it every single day. My son is in love with smoothies and probably eats 3 fruits everyday for breakfast. If I'm feeling spicy I throw in a few handfuls of spinach and the Vitamix mixes that shit so much, HE HAS NO IDEA....
