bubby's nyc

a few gloomy weekends ago we took ourselves down to tribeca for brunch at bubby's. i most highly recommend the home fries and broiled grapefruit with brown sugar. and grits! grits are weird but if you've never tried cheese grits, by all means. the wild maine blueberry pancakes could easily be shared with at least three people.

the creme brulee of morning citrus.

the ambiance at bubby's reminds me of a citified cracker barrel in the finest sort of way. tell me you've stopped at cracker barrel on a road trip?!

after brunch we strolled to adeline adeline a few blocks away to peruse the bikey goods. not too shabby tribeca.

yum! I used to hate grapefruit because it was too bitter, but my aging (maturing?) tastebuds have fallen in love with them... this sounds delicious! I might have to try it next weekend ;)

It has been years since I have been to Bubby's- I need to return for some brunch or even just a slice of pie!

Looks like a great spot! Love the blue benches out front...And you're right, it is actually very much like Cracker Barrel!

Ah, the good old Cracker Barrel. No one on the West Coast has any idea of what that fine establishment is, but I think for modern times, I'll stick with Bubby's if I have a choice :-)

I heart breakfast food. That broiled grapefruit looks awesome.

I've never been to Cracker Barrel but every time I hear the same I think of this "slip and fall" case I had to read about the cracker barrel my first year of law school. Totally weird association, I know.

This sounds like the best way to spend a Sunday morning.

Move down here and then we can go to bubby's and ride bikes (as soon as I get one) on the hudson. I love this place so much. It' a bit of a zoo on the weekends but always worth it. My favorite breakfast is the huevos rancheros. Delicious. But the pancakes are BEYOND if you're in the mood for a carb coma.

I've heard so much about Bubby's but haven't brunched there yet. Thanks for the reminder, and for the heads-up on the wild Maine blueberry pancakes!
