cranberry salad

with thanksgiving and hanukkah all in one swoop, i thought i'd share (again) a few side dishes for those of you hosting this year. vegetarianism aside, the sides are the best part. who needs a turkey! ok, the turkey is important, i get it. but so is the cranberry salad i make every single year.

parmesan roasted edamame

parmesan roasted edamame in place of green bean casserole?

cranberry apple couscous

cranberry apple couscous would be perfect with sliced turkey and even better for lunch the next day.

potato latkes

and of course, latkes.

what sides are traditional in your household?

Mmm that edamame looks delicious.

YUM–anything potato smothered in Mr Kensington ketchup is fine by me! We're classicists–mashed potatoes with pan gravy, green beens with shallots and for a little twist, we like to serve Zuni CafĂ©'s Bread Salad!

Meh, I'm not even a vegetarian and I still think that the turkey is the least exciting part of Thanksgiving. It's all about the fattening cream cheese mashed potatoes and delicious homemade rolls for me. Good thing it's just once a year.
