snow in the city.

nyc snow

despite the sound of snow plows on the hour, there are about five minutes after a snowstorm in which the city shuts down and you can hear a pin drop. the morning rush is not so rushed and the sidewalks are filled with snow shovelers and salt.

i woke up around 6:30am to sam wiggins staring me down--NOT because he needs to go to the bathroom, but because somehow he is fully aware that it snowed and we mustn't waste our time with sleeping.

soon after, we headed to the roof-- camera in one hand and a thermos of coffee in the other. mid-air, this guy!

Great shots! I laughed out loud at the one of Sam Wiggins in mid-air! I just took a shot of our dog romping through the snow yesterday... she loves it more than any of us!

Apparently all labradoodles are just crazy about snow! Our prances between piles of it (I'm in the midwest, where we got about 10 inches) until I'm forced to dangle a treat in the doorway because I'm freezing!

I love your snowy city pictures. We haven't got any snow in Seattle this winter (minus a little one morning when I was gone). I love a good snowy morning.
