the daily muse

i have excitedly taken on a new job and as i'm sure you've noticed, been a bit absent in the blog department. above all, i have made the most amazing friends, met new people, and used the blog as my creative outlet over the past several years. i'm not going anywhere and neither is the blog, though my intentions have certainly changed.

my friend amy wrote a post earlier this year about quality over quantity, and i wholeheartedly agree with her mantra as it relates to the blog. i know once every six months someone writes a new post about being present or whatever, and now you can add mine to the list. i've gotten older, and in turn my relationship towards the blog has changed over time as well. that's perfectly normal and i'm not going to beat myself up over it.

if i happen to bring my camera along to our new favorite restaurant (abc cocina, i'm obsessed) and snap some photos-- great! and if not, that's fine too. i admit it's not a priority for me right now, but at the same time it's also something that i very much enjoy doing.

that being said, i've had an itch to walk through the park and take a crap ton of flower photos that you've already seen, but haven't found the time to do so. rather, i prefer to spend that free time taking sam wiggins for a long walk instead.

it's a balance and over time i will find a new rhythm that works for me.

Yay! Congratulations on your new job. That is so exciting. I'm glad you're not going anywhere and I'm glad that you're working toward a blogging cadence that makes you happy and fulfilled. Quality over quantity always. Cheers!

Three cheers for finding a role that's satisfying, and exploring a new approach to blogging. I found myself posting my first photo to Instagram in weeks this morning, and it felt so good to admit that while it wasn't a high priority for me to share there regularly, I didn't have to feel badly about that either.

It's okay, I took enough blossom photos for the both of us.

But in all seriousness, I hear you. And yay! Two big thumbs up for quality over quantity--I fully support.

Congrats again on the new gig!
